		<description>As per my usual curiosity about anything offered &quot;free&quot;, I managed to get the 10GB account shortly after I saw the info about it posted here. But I haven&#039;t yet bothered actually using it to back anything up, and probably won&#039;t, pretty much for the reason you&#039;ve stated here.

First, I don&#039;t have any data of real importance online other than my email (my facebook &quot;test&quot; accounts etc. remain essentially unused), and if I&#039;m going to back up an email account, I feel &quot;safer&quot; doing so at another established email service rather than some site I never heard of until very recently (and which most people have probably still never heard of). I really just don&#039;t see much point to this service, at least for myself.</description>

It&#039;s true: there have been a lot of server failures at Internet companies, even at Google. So you should definitely have some kind of alternative backup arrangement.
