Content is the king, I think you should touch on Blog comments. Commenting on others in your niche and staying ‘in front’ of your audience always helps

@Komodo Dragon I respectfully disagree. If you provide good content people will digg it, stumple it, etc and it will get circulated. Content is king, behind that I believe are incoming links that will help your SERP’s for SEO.

@Ball Valves, Sure there is no denying that Content is king, but that is not the point of this post, the point is to suggest ways to bring people back to the website. As Bob, suggested ways you can do it are… by having people subscribe via email, and received updates. Twitter, etc.

May I give an add. Write some great post. When your link bring me to this blog and I don’t find any great post, I just see your blog for 5 seconds. After that I don’t come back again.

Well, it may get a little bit of name recognition out there for you, however most people would think it wasn’t a “high quality” website if they saw it advertised on the back of a car..

I agree with what Komodo is saying. Sometimes we get too carried away with content only. There is absolutely no doubt about content being the meat in the sandwich, that much is true. However, if one continues the sandwich analogies, there are other things that will make people remember your sandwich store over the others. Things like ensuring consistent maintenance of standards are just as important. If your sandwich tastes a certain way one time and totally different other times, that will lose you customers that have come back to experience more of the same.

RSS is good, but then you’re losing actual traffic to your site. Your readers may be huge, but your traffic numbers may decrease if theyre using a RSS reader.

Fully agree with this post…. I think with such task easily anyone can get
their visitors back to their site/blog. Having give aways or freebies helps too.
