I think Cosmo is around 50%, maybe more. But I don't really mind. The reason I pick up Cosmo every month is to see what's new, and the ads are pretty "targeted" I would say.
I guess it's different for tech related magazines.

Magazines are a dying breed. I'm surprised anyone still buys them when you can get the same information online, when it breaks, and for free.

I canceled my Maximum PC subscription partially because of the overabundance of ads. That, and they still use a CD to distribute their software, so there's almost nothing on it.

What you don't realize is that Wired magazine costs $12.00 a year to subscribe to, which is much less than other magazines with the same content.

Wired operates with the idea that the magazine is cheap, but there will be a lot of ads...Even with the ads, you're getting 70+ pages of conent (for a dollar an issue).

It's their business model - and it's working.

I still read magazines as I do enough stuff online, and it's nice to read something in print for once.

After reader that I thought it sounded terrible and don't remember seeing so many ads in mine but I've just checked ...39 full pages out of 130 pages which is 30%. At least 10 of those were at the back though which isn't quite so bad.

First 11 pages in a magazine doesn't give a very good impression!

I don't read magazines much either, but I picked up a copy of GQ (Gentlemen's Quarterly)..most of the first 100-130 pages were advertisements..and then the rest of the magazine was mostly advertisements..

I don't like magazines much anymore, such crappy content!!
