It has been a little less than a year since I launched I Hate My Roommate with my friend Jack. The layout we had before was very simple and we only really put the site up as something fun and considering my current roommate situation at the time. The site has got some traction and we really started to see things pick up over the past month. So I decided it was time for a new look, something that was easier to read and allowed more room to fit in some ads. So we went from this….

To this….

The site is very clean and easy to read now since most of the posts contain mostly text anyways. There are also 2 side columns now, which allows more space for things as we choose to add them. The site is doing very well and we are posting at least 1 post per day. You can check out the site or follow the site on twitter!

I have been quite busy since the start of 2011. ThinkComputers is taking up much of my time, which is a good thing, but it has consumed me at times. I am finally starting to delegate many of the tasks off to other staff members to free up time for myself and make my life less stressful.

A lot of my friends do affiliate marketing to earn extra income and some make a living off of it. I know it is a very profitable market to get in to if you know what you are doing and I think that I can make some extra money doing it. The thing is how am I going to compete with the super affiliates out there bringing in six figures a month from it. I really need to learn the basics and how to get back in to it. The other day I was told about Commission Crusher.

I found the video on the site very compelling and I decided to purchase the software and video guides. Commission Crusher is system that teaches you the basics about Affiliate Marketing and selling ClickBank products. It was created by Steve Iser and he goes through how to set everything up and teaches you the basics of affiliate marketing.

I hope this system will help me get back in to affiliate marketing and of course make me some money! I’ll keep everyone updated on my progress. Wish me luck!

Having a great office is important for any type of business. You want your employees to be comfortable, which makes for a better work experience for them and increased productivity for you. My home office is pretty organized and some would call it cool, some of the offices I’ve discovered are just AWESOME! Today’s AWESOME office is located in Madrid and home to Selgas Cano Architecture.

If you like nature you are going to really love this office. The building itself is sunk in to the ground and one entire side of it is a window so you really feel like you are in the woods. Here are some photos…

Well if you didn’t know already the Steelers lost in this year’s super bowl by a score of 31 to 25. It was a good game for sure and great to see Pittsburgh in it, but like most people I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. With an average US audience of 111 million viewers, this was the most-watched Super Bowl as well as the most-watched progam of any kind in American television history, beating the previous record of 106.5 million viewers for Super Bowl XLIV. The game drew a national household Nielsen rating of 46.0 and a 69 share. That is sure a lot of eyes on the TV so having your brand in a commercial during the game can mean big things. Of course there is a price and this year the cost was said to be 3 million dollar for a commercial during the game.

Honestly I think some of the ads were great and some were just horrible. I would have really liked to see some more tech ads, but there were not that many. Anyways here are some of my favorite ads from this year.

NFL Best Fans Ever

This had to be my favorite commercial, it has some of the best TV shows of all time in it.

Budweiser ‘Wild West’

I love Peter Stormare and this commercial is just great!

Sealy After Glow

Interesting to see a mattress company advertise during the Super Bowl, but they did a great job on this commercial and it definitely caught people’s attention

What was your favorite ad this year?

If you have read this blog for any extended period of time you know I’m a huge hockey fan. That being said I’ve always enjoyed football and being from Pittsburgh you know my favorite team has to be the Steelers. It’s like a sin to be from Pittsburgh and not be a Steelers fan. If someone that is not from Pittsburgh knows anything about Pittsburgh they probably know about the Steelers. When I go on trips and meet people and I tell them I’m from Pittsburgh the first thing they talk about is the Steelers.

Anyways for the 3rd time in 6 years the Steelers are back in the Super Bowl! I don’t think anyone expected them to be there, especially with Ben Roethlisberger missing the first 4 games of the season and all of the injuries throughout the season. It is great to see them back in the Super Bowl. Of course I want them to win, they just need to keep a lead. They have a bad habit of letting teams come back, especially in the 2nd half of the game. Anyways GO STEELERS!!!!! Here is a video to get you pumped up!
