RSS or Bookmarks?

Each day I usually go through and check out around 10 different blogs. These are mostly my friend’s blogs or people I know. When I first started this blogging thing I used Google Reader to keep track of everyone else’s blog posts. While Google Reader does do a good job it was sort of boring to me. Every time I would see something I would want to read I would click on the link and go to that person’s page anyways.

So since I recently reformatted my computer I have been using bookmarks. They are easy to keep organized, but do not tell me if someone has updated their blog. That is not such a big deal to me since most of the blogs I visit are updated each day. Going to someone’s blog instead of reading the RSS sort of brings you into their world. Their blog design, layout, etc lets you know that you are at their page reading their blog, rather then reading some text from Google Reader. So everyone RSS or bookmarks?

Definitely RSS! I use Firefox and the Sage plug-in. I find it to be the simplest and quickest way to keep track of everyone — and a lot of news pages (New Scientist being a prime example).

I use to use RSS all of the time, but I prefer bookmarks. I enjoy going to users websites, increasing their page impressions, and as you said “going into their world” because it just feels like more than “text” like in RSS.

RSS Reader 100%.

At this moment I have 266 Feeds in my reader, and I like RSS readers because they display only new fresh content, and I can access it from everywhere.

Both , lets face it we have more money then time ;-) , at least you do ;-) and we need to be wise how we spend that time , also some subject on other people blog and sites can be shall we say not something we really care about or too time consuming , so bookmarks are good to keep an eye on what and where the scene is , and RSS is better at knowing what the scene is actually doing.

Why compromise ? You don’t need to.

I’m a big fan of Google Reader. I read the posts in the feed, and if I want to comment, I click through to the site.

Google Reader all the way! I think it all depends on how many feeds you subscribe to. I just recently made the switch to Google Reader and managing/viewing all the posts has just become so much easier. In fact I just recently blogged about how much I enjoyed the switch over to Google Reader!
