The #1 Reason Why You Don’t Do What I Do

I have been thinking about all of the people who have said to me, “I would love to do what you do”, but for some reason they are not doing it. I am going to tell you the #1 reason you are not doing what I do and it may make you upset. Here it is, you are lazy, yes lazy. That’s what it really comes down to. If you want to go into business for yourself or build an internet business you can’t be lazy!

What I do is honestly easy. I more or less run a review and news website. So I review products and cover tech news. ANYONE can do this. I’ve seen many people start up review sites and become very successful with it, but the main thing is they are not lazy about it.

Not many people want to take the time to build a business, they don’t want to put in the hard work. When I started ThinkComputers I was in college taking a full class load and had a job as well. After class, work, homework, etc I was working on the site. Not many people I know have the determination to work a normal job then work on a business after their “typical” work day is over. So many people just turn that switch off right after work, they are done for the day. And 90% of them go home and vegetate until it is time to go to bed and then they do it all over the next day. That does not seem like anyway to live to me.

The next part of being lazy is not wanting to work for no instant return on your time investment. I know many people who have told me the’ve wanted to start a blog or website and they actually do it, but a month or so in they are done. They are not making money right away so it is not worth it to them. If only they would see the big picture! Most websites do not blow up right away and it takes time. I did ThinkComputers for free for years before it made any money, now it is my full-time job. My new website probably won’t make any money for months, but I still work on it.

Another thing I see with lazy people is they do not want to sacrifice. If there is something going on they would rather do that then put in a night or few hours on their business. Yes I do go out a lot, but at the end of the day my business will always come first. If I have to meet a deadline I am working all night long on it, if I need to be up at the crack of dawn to cover an event I am there and if I’m behind I’m pulling an all-nighter to get caught back up.

Finally we have whats been drilled into our heads since we were kids. We work 5 days a week and we get the weekends off. I cannot tell you the last day I really truly took a day off. Many people think this is crazy, but why would I just sit around when I can better my business? I was talking to my buddy Ian before about this an we both agreed that we just don’t have the same mindset as other people. Again many people are not willing to work on the weekends or on their supposed “days off”.

Again, the fundamentals of what I do are not that complex at all. Anyone can do what I do, but if you are lazy it will never happen for you. The reason I am able to support myself by running my own business is because I am not lazy.
