The Palms Signature 2 Bedroom Suite

Well it looks like the ThinkComputers crew is starting a tradition. Last year we decided to stay an extra day and get a really pimp room for the last day of our CES trip. We stayed at the Vdara in their 2 Bedroom Hospitality Suite and really enjoyed it. It gave us a chance to relax, get some work done, and feel like we really accomplished a lot during the hectic CES week. This year we did the same thing, but wanted to check out a different suite. Upon Jack’s suggestion we went with the 2 Bedroom Suite at Palms Signature (Palms Place).

Palms Signature, or Palms Place as we know it is Palms residential tower. Mainly because of the bad economy and housing market Palms is not able to sell all of the units at Palms Place. So they rent them out or rent out rooms that are not in use by their tenants. This is actually quite cool because Palms Place does not have a casino or anything like that so it lets you get away from all of the madness of Vegas. So without further ado here is the video we shot of the suite, MTV Cribs style!

The set up of the suite is quite interesting because it is more like a 1 bedroom suite and studio suite combined. There are technically two rooms completely so you can have privacy in each room. And another thing that is cool is that you can close off the corridor so you have your own private hallway, which is shown in the beginning of the video. Palms calls this “Double door suite entry”. Here is a photo overview of the first part of the suite.

And now the second (studio) part.

Being on the 50th floor is great and the view out of the window is amazing. Our suite faced the mountains, which I actually enjoyed a lot more than looking at the strip. Palms Place has its own pool, spa and restaurant so you do not have to really leave for much. If you happen to want to gamble you can go over to Palms by using the skytube. I actually did this the next morning to go get a coffee, it takes about 15 minutes round trip.

As far as the internet goes it is free and its not bad, but it is limited to one device per suite. So technically we would get two devices with this suite. The best thing to do would be to invest in a travel router, which I’ve had for a few years now. The suite does offer a wired connection, which I do prefer and makes it easy to connect the travel router to.

A couple of things about this suite did bum me out though. First we were not able to access the balconies. Apparently this is because the owner of the suite is the only person that has access to the balcony keys. I also think that is has something to do with an insurance issue because this is a residential tower and was not meant to be rented at first. Also when we stayed at Vdara they gave us complimentary roundtrip limousine transportation to and from the airport. Palms does not offer that with this suite rental.

In any case I think that this is a great suite to relax in, have a party in and much more. It is nice to be off the strip and you are still close enough to Palms Casino to have fun without having to get into a cab.
