Why Would I Pay you $25 Tyler?!

I first read about this over at Jon Waraas’s blog then followed the story to WickedFire. So Tyler Cruz made a post on his blog about is new site and was talking about how he liked the forum layout that he got designed. He complained about the waiting so long for previous layouts and he said this new layout company was really great, especially their turnaround time. Then he goes on to complain about people e-mailing him asking him who this design company is. So what does he do? He wants you to pay him $25 for the name of the design company! Here it is directly in the post…

So, if you really want to know who I used, it’s going to cost you $25. Sorry.

What an asshole, I’m sorry but are you that desperate for money? I know for a fact that you are not so why make people pay for a name? That’s just stupid and goes against what most of us believe in. We always help people out if they need it, we don’t charge them for a damn name. Anyways WickedFire pointed out if you google “who designed starcraft2.net” it says Custom skin designed by ForumTemplates.com. Now why the hell would anyone pay you $25 Tyler? Get over yourself…

I agree with you. If he had said that it would benefit him not to give the name out and just left it at that I wouldn’t have a problem with it but when he attempts to charge people it makes me think of him as a real asshole.

I think it’s more power to you if you give out your resources, especially on the web. You’re gaining more traffic, and sending more business to the other people. Maybe you’ll get some discounts from the forwarded business?

If you pay me $25 I’ll tell you my middle name
I can name trillions of other things that are $25 or less than the name of a company. Odds are if I am looking for a company for design in the first place I will find someone that caters to my style and makes a design that I consider better than his–hence the reason I would pay them to create it!

I have to agree that Tyler is a clown…

However I think you should not only blast Tyler but John Chow for not divulging his little secret on he got ranked back to #1 for “make money online”. Obviously Chow isn’t asking money for the secret, but for some reason thought it wasn’t a good idea to inform the general public

The designer is from forumtemplates.com. Altough they have really shitty designs in my oppinion.

Tyler’s just hurting from his failed attempt at affiliate marketing and the fact his bread and butter poker sites are getting hammered by the online poker ban in the USA

I must admit… I keep reading posts that seem to result in tyler being an asshole… I think it’s kinda funny but then again at least this post didn’t link to his site like some of the others… haha… so even bad publicity seems to work for this guy…

the $25 name drop is poor character i must admit, especially when you brag about them doing such a good job, you would want to give them some credit and business… that just seems right…
